Newest Waves VST3 Shell Crashing Plugin Scanner

Postby UtuneAudio » Tue Apr 25, 2017 3:09 am

Hello,
After Successfully running Live Professor 2 with Waves plugins through Waves Central for months, after the newest Waves Central update, the Waves VST3 plugin shell crashes the Plugin Scanner in Live Professor, however the regular VST shell does not. Are there any possible workarounds, other than just using the VST plugins?

OS: Windows 10.0.14393 64-bit
Live Professor: 2.0.4
Waves Central: 1.3.1.4

Hi Thank you for reporting this (And for a crash report)
I will have to updated Waves and check, I'm pretty sure this will need to be fixed by us, or the developers who create the VST3 hosting code.
The only workaround would be to use VST2, as far as I know, in the current version of LiveProfessor you won't notice any difference.
Regards
Nikolai

Hi
Yes, this is a compatibility issue between the new waves shell and the 3rd.party plugin framework that LiveProfessor uses.
It's kind of in Waves hands, as the crash is way inside their shell code that we can't "see inside". We will keep pushing them
